This Tremolux was built in March of 1965, and features pre-CBS “Fender Electric Instrument Co.” badging on both the front and back. Essentially, the Tremolux is the head version of a Vibrolux—minus the reverb. These amps are often considered hidden gems in the Blackface lineup, typically costing about half as much as a Vibrolux Reverb combo. This particular set sounds incredible, thanks in no small part to the original Oxford 10L5 speakers in the cabinet. Cosmetically, both pieces show a moderate amount of wear, including a few small tolex tears and signs of long-term storage.
Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced. Otherwise, the amp retains its original preamp components, including the coveted Blue Molded Ajax coupling caps. Nothing but Blackface, player-grade brilliance on display here!
