The Tweed Era Fender Princeton can be seen as an expanded version of the Champ, offering a larger cabinet size and adding a tone control to the circuit. This addition addresses the one weakness of the Tweed Champs—their tendency to sound a bit dark—by allowing you to brighten or mellow the sound to your preference. The 5F2-A is the latest version of the Tweed Princeton circuit and is widely considered the most desirable.
This amp has been fortunate enough to have stayed all original (other than the handle), while still able to perform and sound great! Because of this the buyer should note that this amp has long expired electrolytic caps, along with a delicate original speaker cone - should someone need prolonged or gigging use from this piece it will need servicing (electrolytic caps, etc).
