The Pro Reverb serves as a nice midway point between the Deluxe and Twin Reverb, having a bigger sonic footprint than the Deluxe, but not overly loud for use with smaller stages. These can be seen as the best deal out of any of the Blackface era amps, and if you're willing to bear a little extra weight the sound is worth it. The speakers have been swapped for period appropriate Jensen C8261's from 1966, which many would consider an upgrade. The baffle board has also been changed, with the speakers now mounted from the rear. The output transformer has also been swapped for a modern Mojotone type.
Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced. A handful of plate resistors have been updated to modern equivalents, along with some coupling caps in the phase inverter. Thankfully, the original “Blue Molded” Ajax coupling caps remain in the tone stack, helping preserve the core of that classic Blackface sound—please see circuit photos for further details.
Cosmetically, the amp shows moderate wear, with some nicks in the tolex in various spots, but remains structurally solid overall.
