Description
Forrest White was one of the most important figures behind Fender’s golden era, joining the company in 1954 and overseeing the factory and production throughout nearly the entire pre-CBS period. Working closely with Leo Fender, White helped transform what was still a relatively small operation into the manufacturing powerhouse responsible for some of the most iconic guitars and amps ever made. His tenure spanned everything from the earliest production Stratocasters through Fender’s explosive growth of the 1950s and ’60s, before ultimately leaving the company following the CBS takeover.
This particular Twin Reverb was personally owned by Forrest White, giving it a direct connection to one of the individuals who helped shape Fender history from the inside. According to the letters included with the amp, White purchased it with the express intention of preserving a piece of Fender’s pre-CBS legacy. While vintage Twin Reverbs certainly aren’t difficult to find, examples in such superb condition, with provenance so closely tied to Fender’s formative years, are another story entirely. Beyond being a great vintage amplifier in its own right, this is a genuinely special piece of Fender history.
The failed filter and bias caps have been replaced to maintain functionality, along with the reverb tank. Other than that, the amp remains 100% stock and comes with letters from Forrest White and the two previous owners documenting its history. All of the original replaced parts are also included with the amp.
