Description

The Tweed-era Fender Princeton can be seen as an expanded version of the Champ, offering a larger cabinet along with the addition of a Tone control. This helps address one of the few limitations of the Tweed Champ—its tendency to sound a bit dark—allowing you to brighten or mellow the sound to your preference. This example shows moderate signs of previous wear, including some oxidation on the metal hardware, which only seems to add to its vintage Tweed charm.

Internally, this amp has been fortunate enough to remain completely original, aside from a 1965 Champ speaker, while still performing and sounding great! Because of this, buyers should note that the amp retains its original, long-expired electrolytic caps, along with an ungrounded 2-prong power cord. Anyone intending to use it heavily or for prolonged gigging should plan on additional servicing, including replacement of the cord & electrolytic caps, to ensure long-term reliability.
