Description

This amp presents as an AB763 Fender Vibroverb, built from a collection of parts starting with an original 1964 chassis. The power transformer is an OEM Fender unit from 1970, while the output transformer is a Hammond 1650N. The choke has also been replaced, though the original 1964 reverb transformer remains. The cabinet is somewhat of a mystery, featuring authentic era-correct tolex but no other identifiable OEM markings.

Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, along with the power resistors. A couple of pots and resistors have also been changed on the board, though the majority of the circuit remains original, including the coveted Blue Molded Ajax coupling caps, helping preserve the authentic Blackface sound. Overall, this is a quirky, great-sounding, player-grade Vibroverb with a custom paint job across the front and sides. As a neat bonus, this amp was longtime owned by beloved Nashville native and Premier Guitar icon John Bohlinger!
