The Fender Bassman occupies a legendary spot in the history of American amplifiers. While each era brings a slightly different configuration, every version offers its own distinct and fantastic sound. With a robust 50-watt 6L6 power section, the 6G6-A circuit delivers excellent clean headroom, a rich low end, and fantastic breakup when pushed.

This amp shows a moderate amount of wear but still looks good for its age, with no significant rips or tears. The original oxblood grillcloth has been replaced with a wheat-style cloth, giving it a slightly different look while retaining that classic Blonde-era Fender aesthetic.

Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, along with the screen grid resistors. In the Bass channel, a couple of resistors have been swapped for modern equivalents, along with one potentiometer and its attached capacitor. Two ceramic capacitors have also been replaced with silver mica equivalents. Fortunately, all of the original Blue Molded Ajax coupling caps remain intact, helping preserve that unmistakable vintage Fender sound. See circuit photos for further details.
