Produced for just a single year in 1963, the 6G16 Vibroverb remains one of the rarest and most significant Fender amplifiers of the era. Beyond its limited production, it holds the distinction of being Fender's first amplifier with built-in reverb, paving the way for the legendary Blackface models that followed. Its unique reverb circuit and bias-wiggle tremolo give it a character all its own, differing from the optocoupler tremolo design used in later models.

A neat feature about this particular amp is the rare presence of the original brown 2-button footswitch, and original cover.

This example is in great condition, showing only minor signs of wear, with no significant blemishes to speak of. The original gold-frame Oxford speakers have been professionally reconed. Internally, the power cord, electrolytic capacitors, and all power resistors have been replaced. The plate resistors for V1 and V2 have also been changed, likely to address noise issues. Otherwise, the circuit remains intact, including all of the original Blue Molded Ajax coupling capacitors. Please see the internal photos for further details.

With its rich, dynamic tone and important place in Fender's history, the 1963 Vibroverb represents a fascinating transition between the Brownface and Blackface eras. A fantastic-sounding amplifier that's every bit as desirable for its historical significance as it is for its tone!
