Popularity for the 6G3 Deluxe has grown steadily over the years, establishing it as one of the most sought-after amps from the Brownface era. It’s often considered the American counterpart to the 18W Marshall, sharing similar features, wattage, and tonal characteristics. This particular example came to us in good condition, with light to moderate wear throughout, and some light liquid staining on the top.
The baffle is original but has been modified to mount the speaker from the rear. The speaker fits snugly, and the change does not affect the amp’s operation.
Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, and a bias adjustment pot has been added. Several resistors have been updated with modern equivalents, likely due to drift—please see the circuit photos for further details. Thankfully, all of the original Blue Molded Ajax coupling caps remain intact, preserving that authentic ’60s Fender sound. Overall, this is a fabulous sounding amp with just enough wear to give it that classic vintage charm!
