The Brown-era Fender Super has mostly flown under the radar until recently gaining more mainstream attention. Its output and format are similar to a Blackface Vibrolux, making it an ideal choice in terms of size and power. This amp has been re-covered at some point—both the cabinet and the grill cloth.

nternally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, along with the screen-grid and bias resistors. On the preamp side, only one cap on the depth control has been changed; everything else remains original. This includes the famed Blue Molded Ajax coupling caps, which are intrinsic to the ’60s Fender sound. Please refer to the specs and circuit photos for more details.
Lastly, the output transformer has been swapped for an OEM Twin Reverb transformer from 1977. While it may seem like an unusual choice, it certainly works, and you can hear an extended low-end response in the amp’s voice. Overall, this is a great example of a player-grade 1962 Super!
