Description

Okay, hear us out—despite the somewhat crude hot rod aesthetics, this is an excellent Blackface amplifier. The speakers have been swapped for Pyle Driver 10's, a popular secret weapon among blues players like Derek Trucks. The reverb tank has also been replaced. Otherwise, the transformers and all preamp components remain original, including the coveted "Blue Molded" Ajax coupling capacitors. The filter and bias caps have been changed, along with the power cord and screen grid resistors.The Pyle Driver speakers sound nice and compressed when cranked, making them well-suited for blues playing. So, if original aesthetics aren’t a big concern, this is an outstanding value amp that sounds fantastic!
