All of the 1950s-era Fender amps hold legendary status, and the Harvard brings a unique voice to the Tweed lineup. Often considered a single-channel Tweed Deluxe, its sound stands apart thanks to its use of a 6AT6/6AV6 tube in the first gain stage, giving it a distinctive tonal character.
Although it’s housed in a non-original cabinet, you’d hardly know it from the outside, thanks to an expert relic job by the late Peter Mather. A 12" baffle was also added, fitted with a vintage 1963 Jensen P12Q speaker. Internally, the power cord has been changed, along with the electrolytic caps and two power resistors. The coupling caps have been swapped for modern equivalents, likely due to leakage from the originals.
With original transformers and a great-sounding vintage speaker, this is an excellent player-grade Tweed Harvard amp!
