This amp has remained in spectacular condition for its age, showing only a couple of small blemishes and minor signs of previous wear. An interesting factory quirk can be found on the tube chart, which is date-stamped "HC" (March 1958). Obviously this isn't correct, as this amp is definitively from the wide-panel Tweed era, with the pots and speaker all dating to 1954. Small factory errors like this do show up from time to time, and only add to the charm and history of the amp.
The 5C5 circuit has been factory converted to 9-pin tubes (12AY7, 12AX7), which was common for mid-50's Fenders. Thankfully, all of the original coupling capacitors have held up over the years, along with the original preamp resistors. The original Triad transformers and Jensen P15N speaker are also present, which all results in an exceptional sounding Tweed amplifier.
Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, along with the power, and screen grid resistors. Otherwise, the rest of the circuit remains original - Please see the circuit photos for further details. This is a wonderfully preserved example that captures everything we love about the early Tweed era.
