This Fender Champ is a true transition-era piece, built just after the Blackface amps gave way to the new Silverface cosmetics. Along with the distinctive "drip-edge" trim, it features the black vertical line on the faceplate, marking it as one of the earliest transition models. It retains the desirable AA764 circuit, making it electronically identical to its Blackface predecessor. The original speaker has been replaced with a '90s black-frame Eminence, and the upper rear back panel is no longer present.
Internally, the amp has been serviced with a replaced power cord and updated electrolytic capacitors. Two resistors have been replaced with modern carbon composition equivalents, but otherwise the circuit remains original.
