This amp was built in April of 1965 and still bears the coveted FEIC Pre-CBS badging. The AB763 Bandmaster is one of the great values of the Blackface era, becoming increasingly popular as outboard reverb options have improved over the years. Many players also point out the strong similarities between the Bandmaster and the 1964 AA864 Bassman, making this an excellent way to achieve those classic Fender tones at a more approachable price point. This particular example is in great condition, showing only minor signs of previous wear.
Internally, the electrolytic caps, power cord, and power resistors have been replaced. A couple of cathode resistors in the preamp have also been changed, though the majority remain original. Thankfully, all of the coveted Blue Molded Ajax coupling capacitors are still present, helping preserve the authentic Pre-CBS Blackface sound. Please see the circuit photos for further details.
