This Vibro-Champ is a transition-era piece, built just after the Blackface amps were updated to the new design. In addition to the "drip-edge" aesthetics, this amp features the black line on the faceplate, indicative of the very first transition models. Internally, the circuit is entirely blackface, as indicated by the AA764 designation on the tube chart. Another nice perk of this era is the use of BC&T "831" transformers, which impart a slightly different character with a bit more midrange-focused breakup.
The power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, but it is otherwise all original. Overall, this is a fantastic-sounding 1968 Vibro-Champ in great condition, with only minor signs of previous wear.
