This amp was built during the final year of the Blackface era and features the legendary AB763 circuit. The Super Reverb shares similarities with the Bassman, utilizing larger transformers than the smaller combos, which gives it a distinct sonic footprint. In this particular amp, the 5AR4 rectifier tube has been swapped for a plug-in diode rectifier, pushing it even closer to the Bassman sound.

Internally, the power cord, filter caps, and bias cap have been replaced, along with the tremolo optocoupler. A cap was also added to the optocoupler to help prevent ticking. Otherwise, the circuit remains original, including the coveted “Blue Molded” Ajax coupling caps. Two of the original CTS speakers have been replaced with Jensen C10Qs from the 1990s. This Super is in fantastic condition, with a small blemish in the grillcloth. Most importantly it sounds incredible—a winning combination, indeed!

This amp was owned by local guitar virtuoso RJ Ronquillo, and was likely played on some of his Youtube videos. This amp is local pickup only, due to the size.
