This is a purpose-built 1x12 extension cabinet, crafted by Fender in 1953. It’s essentially a wide-panel 5C3 box, but without the control panel cutout. The cabinet even features a 5C3 tube chart on the inside, with a hand-written "EXT" next to the serial number. Everything on it is original, including the vintage 1950 Jensen C4963 speaker (P12Q), which was likely pulled from Fender's old stock for use in this cabinet. It also includes a hard-wired speaker cable that exits from the back.
Buyer should note that the original handle has since disintegrated - a high quality, hand-stitched replacement handle can be installed upon request.
This cabinet would have come in good handy as a backup in case the speaker blows in your Tweed Deluxe. Today, it makes for a great studio tool, ideal for use with any amp you choose (20w or under). These cabinets are incredibly rare, as they were produced in very limited quantities. Additionally, it comes with the original Victoria Luggage cover!
