This is a great-sounding Champion 600, featuring the distinctive early '50s wide-panel look. Although not indicated on the tube chart, this is in fact the 5C1 circuit with the 6SJ7 octal preamp tube. The use of the octal tube provides a unique midrange-focused sound, which many find has a thicker sound than the 5E1 style that uses the 9-pin 12AX7 (though with less gain).
Internally, it has a replaced handle and power cord, along with the 6" speaker, but is otherwise completely stock. This amp has held up beautifully over the years, showing only minor signs of previous wear and sporting a beautifully aged amber hue to the tweed!
Despite being fully functional, the buyer should note that this amp has long expired electrolytic caps - should someone need prolonged or gigging use from this piece it will need servicing (electrolytic caps, etc).
