A fantastic sounding and playing Brazilian D-45. Close your eyes and you'll think you're David Crosby at Woodstock.
Martin reintroduced the D-45, the Holy Grail of its prewar models, in 1968. Like the original version, the new D-45s featured back and sides of Brazilian rosewood. However, when Brazil placed an embargo on rosewood logs in 1969, Martin switched to Indian rosewood, leaving a handful of Brazilian D-45s from 1968 and 1969 to become some of the most highly sought Martins of the postwar era.
This 1969 D-45 has the desirable small rosewood bridgeplate (rather than the later oversized bridgeplate). The neck was reset by legendary luthier Randy Wood. A small ding in the back was restored by Bob Peterson of Angel Guitars, known for his work for Paul McCartney. A crack along the edge of the pickguard has been repaired with a cleat (also by Randy Wood). The pickguard is original (although the edge is starting to curl up).
Comes with its original hang tags and hard case.
