This Martin D-18 Authentic 1937 VTS is a remarkable tribute to one of the company’s most celebrated pre-war designs and a dream instrument for dedicated flatpickers. Martin went deep into its archives, studying original late-’30s D-18s to recreate their construction, feel, and tonal character with impressive accuracy. This model features an Adirondack spruce top with forward-shifted X-bracing patterned after 1937 builds, an era-correct body shape, ebony fingerboard and bridge, “Old Style 18” inlays, brown tortoise binding, and a neck carve modeled directly from a vintage example. The top is treated with Martin’s Vintage Tone System (VTS), enhancing the wood’s responsiveness and giving the guitar the openness and warmth of an aged instrument. The result is a wonderfully playable acoustic with a rich, powerful voice—and a truly special piece for anyone seeking a historically informed D-18. This acoustic is in excellent condition, with almost no evidence of use. Comes with OHC
