This 1936 D-18 is a spectacular guitar in remarkable condition for 90 years of music making. It remains incredibly rare being one of the first 400 14-fret D-18s produced. It's dried out over time resulting in a snappy deep response with powerful, warm tone. It features the pre-'37 "Advanced" forward-shifted scalloped bracing - a highly sought after spec for Martin lovers. Its repair history is light for a guitar of its age with a neck reset, refret, bridge plate and bridge work all done to address playability. Additionally, a long crack has been repaired along the bass side shoulder with some buffing to blend it in. There is typical player wear throughout with finish scrapes, dings and buckle rash to note.
Includes Cedar Creek hard shell case.
