Fresh to the market from the family of the original owner, this storied 1946 Martin D-28 is full of character. 1946 was the final year for herringbone trim on the 28 line and the first full year for sitka spruce; 1946 D-28s have a loyal following for these unique appointments. This example has several cosmetic touchups, but remains structurally strong and original inside. A full story of its previous ownership is included with the guitar, but to summarize: the guitar was purchased in 1946 by a Missouri WWII veteran and it spent time in New York, Arizona, Washington, and Japan (with a cousin stationed overseas). There are scans/ photos of it being played over the years. The guitar has been well-loved and taken care of as such. Please see the specifications for further details.
Comes in vintage hardshell case.
