Universally regarded as the favorite among Fender’s "mid-sized" amps, the Vibrolux has a distinct and sought-after sound. With a 35-watt, 6L6-powered section, it delivers enough volume to keep up with a band while avoiding the added size and weight of larger models. A great feature of this particular Vibrolux is the large-magnet 10L5 Oxfords it comes with—these speakers provide plenty of headroom and handle the wattage much better than the smaller J and K models.
Despite showing signs of previous wear, this amp still looks very good, with no significant blemishes. The power cord and electrolytic caps have been replaced, along with the power resistors and one tube socket. The plate resistors have been swapped for modern carbon comp equivalents, along with a couple of cathode resistors. The original ceramic caps have been replaced, but thankfully, all of the original Blue Molded Ajax coupling caps remain, preserving that signature Blackface sound! See circuit pictures for further details.
