Fender Vibrolux Reverb 1970, Black

This Fender Vibrolux was built during the Silverface era but features an aftermarket blackface front control panel. Fortunately, 1970 is still early enough that the circuit is practically identical to the blackface version. The front baffle and speakers have been replaced, and someone has managed to install authentic-looking blackface-era grille cloth, further enhancing the retro look.

Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been changed. A couple of power resistors were replaced, and the bias feed resistors were swapped for modern equivalent carbon comps. Other than that, just a single coupling cap was swapped, and the rest remains original.With the blackface look considered, this is a great-value Vibrolux with strong sound to match! It shows minor signs of wear, with some tolex scuffing on the corners, but overall it’s in very good shape.
