This amp was said to have been a demo amp at the same shop, ever since it was new 60 years ago! Whether that's true or not, it has certainly accumulated signs of prolonged storage, although for vintage amps that's preferred over touring abuse. Inside it's practically all original, with the only changes being the power cord, electrolytic caps, and some power resistors. The preamp has had a couple caps changed, and a couple resistors, for the sake of servicing functionality. Something else to note is the amp is filled with infamous "blue molded" Ajax capacitors, which are famously used in all of the blackface era amps. Compared to the yellow Astrons these usually stay more reliable over time, resulting in a particularly great sounding harmonic tremolo. For this reason 1962 is a great year for Blonde Era amps!
