This exceptional Pre-war Martin OM-18 exemplifies why Martin guitars are so revered. Few instruments can match the effectiveness and enjoyment of playing a mahogany OM, and this 1933 model is a standout. Set up with medium action, it offers a highly comfortable playing experience. Its well-balanced tone shines in both fingerpicking and flatpicking styles. Over the years, this guitar has undergone several repairs to preserve its playability, including the replacement of tuners, nut, ebony fingerboard, and bridge, along with a refret, neck reset, and overspray on the neck. Additionally, the heel has been grafted, the bridge pins and saddle have been replaced, and side cracks on the bass side lower bout have been glued. There are witness marks on the top and filled holes near the end pin from a previously installed floating tailpiece, a glued crack along the treble side fingerboard extension, and a repaired 2-inch side crack on the treble side waist. The guitar has also received a finish touch-up, a maple plug repair on the original bridge plate, a dowel through the neck block, and has an indentation that runs along the treble side of the neck. Thanks to these repairs, this guitar plays wonderfully and is ready to go!
