With an Adirondack Spruce top on a Mahogany dreadnought body, Martin's pre-WWII D-18Â delivers a legendary combination of power and rich, balanced tone.
This D-18 from 1941 is as enjoyable to play as it is to look at. It features a rear-shifted X-braces for greater tonal clarity and a 1 11/16" nut width for playing comfort. This guitar has been well-cared for, showing minimal playing wear. A very thin Maple bridgeplate bar has been placed over the bridgeplate to prevent erosion from the ball ends of the strings. A strap button hole in the neck heel has been filled. It has also had a neck reset, a refret, and it's original bridge has been reglued.
The guitar comes in a Lifton "Built Like a Fortress" case with textured brown covering and greenplush lining.
