This prewar 000-28 is a fantastic player-grade example, showcasing the craftsmanship, tone, and quality that make these guitars so desirable. After 85 years, this '37 has undergone significant changes to maintain its playability. Most notably, the neck was replaced—likely in the 1970s—and the top was re-topped with Sitka spruce. Additional modifications and repairs include replacement Grover tuners, a neck reset, a refret, a new nut, a new bridge and saddle, a refinish, a No-Jak installed, witness marks from a previously mounted tailpiece, dowel marks near the heel, and an added strap button. Thanks to these updates, this guitar plays beautifully, delivering a rich, balanced tone that's ready to inspire its next owner. Includes a 1950s Martin hardshell case that has been spray-painted black.
