Description

The 12" bigger brother to the Vibrolux amp, the 5E9 Tremolux shares a lot of similarities with the other 6V6 Tweed amps. It has a bit less gain than the 5E3 Deluxe, along with a surprisingly good sounding Tremolo. While the Tweed covering is original, it has been oversprayed with lacquer, for reasons unknown. The front grillcloth has been changed, along with the speaker mounting hardware - although it looks very close to stock.

Internally, the power cord and electrolytic caps have been changed, along with the power resistors. The original Astrons were most likely leaking, and have been replaced with modern equivalents, though the original parts are included with the amp. A few plate resistors have been changed as well, for modern carbon comp equivalents. Please see circuit pictures for more details. Lastly, the output transformer has been changed, and the replacement looks like a faithful recreation of the original, with paper bobbins.
