Description

This transition era Bassman wears the "drip-edge" aesthetics, indicating was produced right after the blackface era, but prior to the circuit changes done to the silverface amps. These are often considered to be a good value buy, as they carry the same roar of the blackface amps, but at a lower price point. The tube chart indicates an AB165 circuit, which isn't strictly correct, as typically the 1968 amps have a partially cathode biased power section, with a couple of changed values in the phase inverter. This one has a changed power cord and bias cap, but the rest is all original, including the filter caps.

While the amp is in great working condition - should somebody need prolonged or gigging use from it they should consider changing the original electrolytic caps. Otherwise it's held up well, with just a small bit of normal wear, and a couple of small tears in the tolex on the cabinet.
