This D-18 has been refurbished yet retains plenty of vintage charm and feel. It was retopped in the ’60s, likely at the Martin factory, as evidenced by color the pickguard stock and the character of the sitka spruce. Most liklely at this same time, it had a heel crack glued and the whole guitar was refinished. While the early 60's meant that it is straight braced, and not tapered like other 1945 examples, the time frame still left it in the period for small maple bridge plates. It has a very nice, full-feeling vintage V-shaped neck, and tonally it’s warm and full of definition and clarity from low to high. It comes with the original hardshell case.
