Modifications/RepairsBridge replacement, neck reset, re-fret, replaced bridge pins, fingerboard crack re-glued, bridge plate plug for low E string, the top appears to have been improperly cleaned with an alcohol based cleaner (which reactivated it, but left the checking) and a steel wool pad (there are light scratch marks to the top), the back was oversprayed, and the sides appears to have been lightly oversprayed many years ago as well and have drips from the alcohol-based cleaner from the top
When it comes to acoustic guitars, few reach pinnacle grail status higher than an original Pre-war Martin D-18. The D-18 model, known as the workhorse of bluegrass music, is a well-designed instrument that features warm tone woods and subtle aesthetics.  For its age this guitar is in remarkably stable condition. A previous necessary neck reset and refret was preformed on it; as well as the gluing of a fingerboard crack.  The low E string was plugged at the bridge plate under the top to re-size the hole. There is a pair of 1.5-2" side cracks in the waist that have been reglued. It has a tight grained Adirondack spruce supported by forward shifted scalloped x-bracing. The sound is articulate and quite simply, a flat pickers dream.
Comes with the original hardshell case.
