This 1998 Martin D-45VR is a beautiful example of Martin’s limited-edition Vintage Reissue series, offering the unmistakable presence of a Style 45 dreadnought with a carefully chosen collection of vintage-inspired details. Its solid spruce top is paired with East Indian rosewood back and sides and forward-shifted X-bracing, producing a powerful, open voice with shimmering highs, a full yet controlled bass response, and strong, articulate mids. The comfortable mahogany soft-V neck gives the guitar an unmistakably vintage feel, while the aging toner, abalone snowflake fingerboard inlays, and pearl-inlaid C.F. Martin IV signature further capture the character of Martin’s golden-era instruments. Elegant Style 45 appointments—including the abalone rosette, top and back binding, intricate purfling, and decorative back strip—complete the look. This D-45VR remains in very good condition, with some expected light dings and playwear from years of use, but is in good condition overall and presents beautifully for a vintage-inspired Martin of this era.
