This 1944 Martin 000-21 is a wartime example with a light, responsive build and a clear, balanced tonal character. The spruce top and beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides produce a focused low end with a puffy midrange and a smooth, controlled top, maintaining strong note separation across the strings. Its smaller body size contributes to a quick attack and an even response, keeping the voice articulate without excess bloom.
It has been maintained over time with a neck reset, refret, and replacement bridge, along with a new nut and saddle. The tuners have been replaced, and the original ferrules have been removed, however the original tuners are includes in the case along with its original 1945 bill of sale. There is a very light overspray present on the back, sides, and neck, applied sparingly without obscuring the instrument’s natural character.
Condition is very good overall, with dings and player wear visible throughout. The work that has been done is consistent with long-term upkeep, and the guitar remains a well-preserved example with only minimal intervention.
Includes OHSC.
