Description
This 1944 Martin 000-18 has undergone considerable maintenance and repair over the years to bring it to its current structurally stable and highly playable condition. It exhibits significant honest wear, including checking, cracks, dings, and scratches throughout. Previous repairs include six cleats for top cracks, three cleats for lower-bout back cracks, a neck reset, replacement bridge, bass-side crack repair with two cleats, lower-bout back repair, two plugged holes on either side of the bridge, a plugged output jack on the lower-bout treble side reinforced with three internal cleats, and a refret. The guitar shows clear signs of having been heavily modified into an electric at one point in its life, including evidence of a trapeze tailpiece, possible tone and volume controls mounted on the top, and the former output jack on the side. Despite its extensive repair and modification history, this 1944 000-18 is structurally stable, plays very well, and has a remarkably full voice with notes that ring like a bell, delivering the rich, mature tone that makes these wartime Martins so special.
Comes with HSC with one button missing on case.
