This is a rare solid-state amplifier, built during the Crestline era at Gibson. Like vintage tube circuits, older solid-state units have their own unique charm, and this Starfire surprisingly sounds very similar to the GA-18 Explorer amps, which are its tube counterparts. The gain takes on a saturated, tube-like quality when the volume is cranked, delivering a cool, distinctive sound. Another neat feature of this amp is that the pilot light is synced with the tremolo speed. So, if you notice the light blinking when the amp is on, that's completely normal! The amp appears to be mostly stock, other than an older changed power cord and Fender Labeled Eminence 12".
