One of the unique gems of 1950s-era amplification, the GA-40 Les Paul was a premium-grade amp designed to accompany its guitar namesake. Despite some wear, this example has held up well over the years and remains structurally sound. The chrome control panel has a fair bit of oxidization though it is still legible. That said, playing through this amp is an absolute joy—it delivers a warm vintage crunch and functionality that many would consider superior to the pricier Tweed Tremolux.
While the control plate says "GA-40" this is in fact the GA-40T model, with built-in tremolo.
With the original transformers still intact, this amp has been well maintained over the years with minimal servicing (just the power cord, electrolytic caps, and a few coupling caps to ensure proper functionality). The Weber Alnico 12A is a great match and sounds excellent as well!
