This 1956 Gibson Southern Jumbo shows the kind of honest evolution that comes with decades of use while maintaining its mid-’50s charm. The sunburst finish has been fully buffed, highlighting the slope-shoulder body’s graceful lines and aged character. A neck reset, partial refret, replacement tuners, and new nut keep it playing cleanly, and a center-seam cleat reflects attentive structural care over the years. Additionally two cracks have been repaired. The result is a well-sorted vintage SJ with a dry, balanced voice and the feel of an instrument that’s been put to meaningful work.
Includes 70s Gibson hard shell case.
