Modifications/RepairsReplacement Tuner screws, Neck crack glued, Neck heel overspray, Refret, Neck reset, replacement pickguards (originally factory double guard, original bass side guard in the case), Brazilian Rosewood bridge plate cap for drop in saddle conversion, overspray around pickguard perimeter, replacement maple bridgeplate, replacement back brace, missing rosette binding section between treble side fingerboard and pickguard, factory blonde
This 1965 Gibson Dove features a rare factory blonde finish, a striking variation that sets it apart from the more common sunburst models. Originally built with the distinctive double pickguard, it has since had the guards replaced, though it still retains the bold visual presence of the original design (original bass side guard in the case). The guitar is in great condition overall, with significant but expected maintenance work including a professional neck reset, new frets, and a replaced bridge plate—each done to keep it playing at its best. A previously cracked neck has been securely glued and remains stable. Tonally, it delivers the powerful, articulate voice Doves are known for, with excellent projection and a smooth feel across the neck.  Comes with a period correct chipboard case.
