Gibson Les Paul Standard 1957, Goldtop

A 1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop doesn't need much embellishment, but this one earns it. Ordered from the factory with a Bigsby vibrato rather than the standard stud tailpiece, it's a genuine anomaly. The bridge stud holes beneath that dog-ear bridge were simply never drilled, meaning this guitar left Kalamazoo exactly as it sits today. Under the hood, everything checks out where it counts: CentraLab pots dated to the 34th week of '57, original electronics, and a Brazilian rosewood board over a mahogany neck with that fat, comfortable .91"-.98" oval profile players chase this era for. At 9.2 lbs it wears easy, and 7.3K readings on both pickups tell you these are the real thing, even with some in-and-out history. Light playing wear, a back-of-neck overspray, and a replaced jack plate (original included) are the only marks on an otherwise remarkably clean survivor; and it comes home in its correct 4-latch brown Lifton case with the pink plush lining still intact. Factory Bigsby examples like this simply don't surface often; this is a rare chance to own a documented, one-of-one variation on one of the most collected guitars ever built.
