This 1997 Gibson Les Paul Special Custom Direct is an unusual variation on the classic Les Paul Special, finished in a distinctive Platinum metallic finish. Combining the familiar double-cutaway body shape with upgraded Custom Shop appointments, it offers a different take on Gibson’s straightforward solidbody design. The mahogany construction and dual P-90 pickups provide the punchy, articulate response that has long made the Les Paul Special a favorite, with plenty of midrange character and dynamic range.
