A 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom was the guitar of choice for John Fogerty at the height of his CCR days. If you watch the music video for "Lookin' Out My Back Door," you will see him strum one while sitting in the couch -- grinning ear to ear. That's the same feeling we get picking up this guitar. It's incredibly original to 1969, the year of Woodstock; sans bone saddles and a little lacquer touchup. These Les Paul Customs were major purchases for musicians when new, and the manufacture of these helped Gibson feed the market's desire for the previously retired Les Paul model of the 1950's. The late 1960s were a time of transition for Gibson, in terms of design, but this particular guitar still has some great classic specs including a wide nut width and lack of volute. The sound of the original humbuckers bring you right to the Summer of Love.
