This 2022 Gibson Custom Shop '59 Les Paul Standard Minnesota Burst is part of Gibson Custom's regular Historic Reissue line, built with a two-piece carved figured maple top over a lightweight one-piece mahogany body, and finished in VOS (Vintage Original Spec) nitrocellulose lacquer with nickel hardware. The 50s-profile mahogany neck and Indian rosewood board with trapezoid inlays follow period-correct '59 specs, and at 8.6 lbs it's a comfortable, well-balanced instrument to wear for a long set. It's loaded with Custombucker Alnico III pickups, wired to individual volume and tone controls with a 3-way toggle, and mounted through a no-wire ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge with a lightweight aluminum stop tailpiece for classic '59-style resonance and sustain. This is a faithful, gig-ready recreation of a golden-era Les Paul Standard, built to Gibson Custom's exacting historic specs.
