Description

The 2023 Gibson Murphy Lab Custom ’59 Les Paul brings the look and character of a late-’50s Sunburst into a modern Custom Shop build. This example pairs an Iced Tea Burst finish with a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard, adding a particularly desirable period-correct touch to the Les Paul recipe. The carved maple top, mahogany body, and dual humbucker layout stay close to the original ’59 formula, while Murphy Lab aging gives the guitar the appearance of a well-loved vintage instrument. Gibson produced this limited Brazilian Rosewood run with specially selected figured maple tops and lightweight mahogany bodies, making it a particularly distinctive modern Les Paul reissue.
