The amp that started it all—the Princeton, Model 26 (Deluxe), and Professional (Pro)—were built from 1946 to 1947 in uncovered hardwood cabinets, earning their nickname the "Woodie." Production quantities during this era were extremely low, and there's a strong likelihood that each was wired by Leo Fender himself.

Their significance is unparalleled, predating the electric guitar and marking the genesis of Fender's legendary role in amplifier history.

While some Woodies survive today as little more than display pieces, this one has been fully serviced and is in excellent working order - not to mention it sounds fantastic! The amp shows moderate wear consistent with age, but nothing beyond reasonable use. The original electrolytic and coupling caps were replaced, along with most of the original resistors, and one tube socket. See pictures for further details. The original field coil speaker still remains, along with the transformers, and the vintage tone is well in tact!

This listing is for the Model 26 Deluxe, and feel free to check out the Woodie Princeton we have as well!
