This 1991 Guitar of the Month can only be described as stunning.
The solid Engelmann spruce top is substantially figured with matched "bearclaws". Tops with this very distinct and unusual grain variation are extremely difficult to acquire and are highly prized, especially by collectors. The scalloped top bracing pattern combined with "X-bracing" which has been shifted forward to a position 1" from the soundhole, revives a vintage Martin combination that allows the maximum vibration of the top, and hence a purely Martin tone..
The top, back, sides, and headstock of this Limited Edition "45" are immaculately bound in abalone pearl and grained ivoroid. Abalone pearl is delicately inlaid in the Brazilian rosewood headplate veneer using the vertical C. F. Martin pattern. The ivoroid bound fingerboard is inlaid in the old style "45 snowflake" inlay pattern. Both sides of each tuning machine button have been delicately embossed with the Martin "M", then double plated with 22 karat gold."
This guitar is in great condition with a small ding by the end pin binding being its only notable wear. Includes Mark Leaf Hard Shell Case.
