Built at the start of the metal-front era, this 50w Marshall is essentially all Plexi at its core. Featuring the same brown hand-wired turret board from the previous era, this amp retains all of its original preamp components and electrolytic caps. The only changes are the power transformer shunt caps, and 1k screen grid resistors that were a mandatory addition.
A unique feature of this amp is the laydown-style Dagnall T3560 power transformer—apparently a configuration intended for the Canadian market, as noted on the assembly tag (see pictures). This makes for easy 120V use, with a hard-wired US 3-prong cable instead of a Bulgin-style plug. It's worth mentioning that the plate voltage on this transformer is lower than its Drake equivalent, resulting in slightly less wattage and volume overall. The "lead" circuit is on full display here, offering plenty of aggression and gain!
