The JCM800 is a classic high-gain design that defined the rock and roll tones of the 1980s. This amp served as the foundation for the entire modern era of high-gain amplifiers, influencing models like the Soldano SLO and Mesa Dual Rectifier. This particular amp has its original filter caps, along with a couple of small modifications in the preamp. The cold-clipper value has been changed to 5k, and the V1 plate resistor has a 500pF snubber cap, both of which help tame the brightness that these amps typically exhibit. Check out the circuit pics for further details, and feel free to request a demo clip to hear it in action! It's in fantastic shape, with only minor signs of prior use.
