The JCM 800 Marshall is widely regarded as the stepping stone in which most modern high-gain amps are based upon. It's a great evolution from the original JTM45 designs, featuring a cold-clipper gain stage designed strictly for the purpose of distorting the sound. While this amp is mostly original, it does have a changed resistor value in the cold clipper stage, down from 10k to 4.7k, which results in a much warmer type of breakup. The input resistor on the "low" side was changed to 33k, which helps balance the incoming gain, giving more usefulness for the seldom used input. The transformers and caps are all original, and the amp sounds excellent overall. Condition-wise the amp looks fantastic as well, with only minimal signs of previous wear.
